Anti-Pope protest outside Cairo mosque

CAIRO- Dozens of angry Muslims Saturday night demonstrated outside a major mosque in Cairo, demanding the country's top Christian cleric to disclose the location of a Christian woman they believe has converted to Islam.

The demonstrators staged the first-of-its-kind protest after performing an extra night prayer in Al Nour Mosque in the area of Abbasiya.

They chanted slogans against Pope Shenouda II and called on him to disclose the whereabouts of  Camelia Sheheta,  the wife of a priest in Upper Egypt whose disappearance weeks ago triggered Coptic protests.

The Muslim protesters claimed that Shehata has converted to Islam, but has been handed over by the authorities to the Church.

Christians account around 10 million of Egypt's 80 million population.
