Many of us experienced injustice and knew it feels so bad for the wronged person. The bigger the problem a person has, the more bad we usually feel. This is what Mariam Malak, the young Coptic girl who received zero marks in all her summer exams, should feel.
Couple of days ago, she was announced a winner in her claim by several newspapers, but suddenly she was claimed a liar by the Forensic Research Department report. The Acting Attorney General had ordered to close the case after that report.
Therefore, the young lady was so weak to receive such information. She fainted and entered hospital. I understand how she felt after she spent nights and days to study in order to get enough score to enter medicine school after she has had an excellent academic record over the previous years.
Such dreams were destroyed by the education ministry officials whom she accused of swapping her answer sheets with those of other students.
I know that God won’t forsake his children Mariam whom I remind of the words of the Holy Bible: “If you see the poor oppressed in a district, and justice and rights denied, do not be surprised at such things; for one official is eyed by a higher one, and over them both are others higher still. The increase from the land is taken by all; the king himself profits from the fields. (Ecclesiastes 5:8)
