A Friend told Pope Tawadros that many bishops, priests and monks publish inappropriate topics on their Facebook pages. The Pope asked him to tell them to take heed. However, some of them said they know what’s on their pages and others denied it completely.
Satellite dishes became crucial inside monasteries. They are not dedicated to receive Christian channels. They are entitled to do the service not to receive it. All technology can be used by the devil to attack the clergy. This technology may be very destructive to their spiritual life. Listen to the bible saying: “be vigilant, because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
Dear Pope Tawadros, I heard a bishop saying that you can do nothing about it. However, I believe that you can do a lot in order to protect the church from such great danger.
Bishops shouldn’t enjoy such technology, and they shouldn’t travel every now and then to attend several conferences and receive thousands of dollars as pocket money like Abba Moussa who traveled to England this month as well as several pastoral care visits all over the world.
Such conferences should be held instead inside Egypt to teach bishops and monks about the real monastic life. This should save the church a lot of troubles without paying a lot of money.
