46 Minya polling stations merged due to judges’ tardiness
A total of 46 polling stations in Minya are being merged into nearby stations due to judges’ tardiness, the High Elections Committee (HEC) branch in the Upper Egyptian governorate decided Sunday.
 
Twelve of the parliamentary polling stations are in Abu Qorqas, 10 in Samalout, nine in Mallawi, nine in Edwa, four in central Minya, and two in Matay.
 
Minya Governor Salah Ziyada had contacted the Cabinet and the HEC headquarters in Cairo and agreed to merge the stations.
 
After the judges, who are usually deployed from other governorates, failed to appear on time, Ziyada said the possibility of extending the work of the merged polling stations will be determined by the HEC.
 
A total of 2,974,649 persons are eligible to vote at 1,467 polling stations with 251 candidates running for MinyEgyptian man cast his ballot  in Parliament election in Egypt – YOUM7a’s 25 seats in the Egyptian parliament.
