Court considers lawsuit to block facebook for ‘threatening Egypt’s stability’
The Administrative Court will consider Sunday a lawsuit filed to block the social networking website Facebook in Egypt, Youm7 reported.

Filed by lawyer Alaa El Din Mohamed Moussa, the lawsuit demands to compel the Egyptian president to ban Facebook that “threatens Egypt national security,” as it is used in inciting immoral behavior among Egyptians and spreading misleading information and rumors that destabilize the country’s stability.

In August, The same court has turned down a similar lawsuit filed by lawyer Mahmoud Gouely.

In its grounds, the court said that “social networking websites are channels of exchanging and spreading information and that any violations committed should be dealt in accordance with the law without blocking the social networking website.”

Facebook is the most-trafficked website in Egypt, according to Alexa.com.
