Egyptian newspapers highlighted contradictory situation of the ultra conservative al-Nour Party between attacking the Copts and calling them infidels from one hand, and asking for their support in the parliamentary elections on the other hand.
Under the former Islamic regime of the Muslim Brotherhood, al-Nour called the Copts infidels and refused to congratulate them on their feasts, but now they ask the Copts to run on their electoral lists and even vote for them.
Leaders of the Islamic party said that elections in general are haram, but they have to participate in it according to the law.
