Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy and a high-level delegation left to Madrid Sunday to hold “many fruitful discussions” on military cooperation between Egypt and Spain, according to a statement by military spokesperson Mohamed Samir.
Egypt’s Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi made a three-day visit to Spain Oct. 13 to bolster military cooperation upon an invitation from his Spanish counterpart after signing a May memorandum of understanding on joint military exercises in Egypt.
Last week, Hegazy visited Jordan to enhance security cooperation amid “matching visions on the Middle East challenges.”
Hegazy also met with a delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives in September to discuss “countering terrorism.”
