A man was sentenced to three years in prison for joining the Muslim Brotherhood’s local branch after it was banned.Mohammed Mahdi Al Amri, 50, was on trial at the Federal Supreme Court for joining the illegal branch and being a member of its educational committee.
In July 2013, the same court ordered the closure of the organisation and convicted the group of men that initiated it.
The court also ordered the confiscation of Dh260,000 that was found at the time of the arrest.
