The Court of Cassation reduced a sentence handed down on leading figures of the Muslim Brotherhood on Wednesday.
Mohamed al-Beltagy and Safwat Hegazi received a reduced sentence of 10 years in prison from a previous 20 year-conviction, while Mohamed Mahmoud Zanati and Abdel Azim Mohamed had their sentences reduced from 10 to five years.
The men were convicted of kidnapping and torturing a police officer during the Rabaa al-Adaweya sit-in staged by supporters of President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
