Four judges have been replaced Monday after they refrained from opening their designated polling station after refusing to allow security forces to search their cars, Youm7 reported.
The operations room of the Cabinet notified the Attorney-General has been notified of the judges who were deployed in Belbais town of Sharqia Monday because they refuse to have their cars searched, Youm7 reported.
Voters had gathered outside the polling stations awaiting its opening, according to Youm7.
Eligible voters in Sharqia amount to more than 3.8 million to select 37 individual representatives from 328 candidates and seven others in the list system of the parliamentary elections.
Monday will conclude the second day of voting in the second phase of the elections in 13 governorates. The runoffs will be held Dec 1.
Over 20,000 Egyptian expats in 139 countries cast their ballots in the first day of parliament election second round, a Foreign Ministry official was quoted by Youm7 Sunday.
The turnout of the runoff of the first phase of the elections reached 21.7 percent, down from 26.56 percent in the first round, head of the High Election Committee (HEC) Ayman Abbas said in a press conference Oct 30.
