Spokesman for the Coptic Orthodox Church said that Pope Tawadros traveled to Jerusalem on Thursday to attend the funeral of Anba Abraham, Bishop of Jerusalem, who passed away on Wednesday.
His Holiness was accompanied by: Abba Bishoy, Metropolitan of Damietta and Kafr El-Sheikh. Anba Sarabamoun, head of the monastery of St. Bishoy in Wadi Natrun, Bishop Justus, head of the monastery of St. Anthony in the Red Sea, Abba Cyril, head of St. Mina Monastery in Maryout.
Pope was also accompanied by Anba Theodosius, Bishop of Giza and Dr Gerges Saleh, Honorary Secretary General of the Council of Churches of the Middle East.
Bishop Abraham, Bishop of Jerusalem, was ordained Bishop of Jerusalem in November 17, 1991 and departed yesterday morning after a long illness at the age of 73 years.
