Winning 1.76 billion dollars

Israel wants Egypt to pay her about sixteen billion Egyptian pounds! This came after the International Chamber of Commerce Center obliged Egyptian Petroleum Authority and E-Gas Inc. to pay Israel 1.76 billion dollars in compensation for the loss of for the Israeli Electricity company after stopping gas transfer to Israel since the government has canceled the agreement in April 2012.

Gas export agreement between Egypt and Israel was signed in June 2005 under Mubarak regime. Egyptian government announced that it would appeal the verdict. This money can be used to establish many schools in Egyptian villages.

However, this case is related more to the Arab-Israeli conflict. The Mubarak regime paid 500 million dollars to establish the gas pipeline between Egypt and Israel instead of using it to grow planets in Sinai.

This means that the former regime decided to support Israel against Egyptian national interests. It offered subsidized gas to Israel and sold it at regular price to the Egyptian poor people.

Therefore, this is not a regular agreement, but surrender to an enemy that waged three wars against us. This sparked outrage at that time and was a major motivation to the revolution of January 25.

Moreover, the 1.76 billion dollars is not just litigation, but a political and national issue, which is related to our national dignity. We should learn the lesson from Nasser who decided to nationalize the Suez Canal despite all the challenges.
