Unprecedented freedom

Our media tend to flatter the President who actually doesn’t like such adulation. He prefers to face criticism in order to learn and fix errors. Therefore, the president tried to change that and said he complains to the people. He didn’t threaten to close newspapers or channels as media do enjoy unprecedented freedom. Before, we couldn’t even criticize the president!

In Turkey, journalists are arrested and even killed. Anti-Erdogan newspaper was attacked and burned. Several satellite channels were closed and the opposition is under attack of the government and terrorists as well.

We clearly enjoy unprecedented freedoms in Egypt, at the time Turkey is attacking opposition and media. Erdogan decided to terrorize his people by Istanbul bombing a few hours before the parliamentary elections to ensure victory for his party. Has he formed an alliance with ISIS? Or the terrorists are offering their services for free? I know Erdogan is willing to form such alliance even with the devil in order to stay in power.

It’s clear that media in Turkey are attacked by supporters of the regime. This may be repeated in Egypt by supporters of president al-Sisi after he decided to complain to the people about media! I don’t compare between Egypt and Turkey or between al-Sisi and Erdogan. I just express my fear that fans of the president may decide to attack media after such complaint. In short: Long live Egypt.
