A total of 33 people were arrested Sunday at the Cairo Airport over theft, begging and escaping judicial sentences, Youm7 reported.
The arrests come as part of a security campaign at the airport by both the passengers’ security and investigation departments.
On Dec.13, the airport authorities arrested 60 people for being wanted to serve court rulings.
Over the past months, customs officials at Cairo airport have frequently stopped several attempts to smuggle drugs, money and artifacts.
On Saturday, the customs department foiled an attempt by an Egyptian passenger to smuggle a large amount of veterinary medicines reaching 19,000 injection ampoules worth 409,000 EGP ($52,000.)
