Local residents of a village in Delta’s Sharqia blamed jinn Saturday for “burning their houses several times since two months,” Youm7 reported.
Head of the Sharqia police directorate Hassan Seif said that brothers in Kafr Saqr village have reported that their houses were set on fire by jinn.
Seif added that farmer Ahmed Mohamed reported that his three-floor building was set on fire, adding that the firefighters extinguished the blaze.
Egypt’s Minister of Awqaf (religious endowment) has stated that such claims are “groundless.”
