President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi appointed 18 judges as aides to the Justice Minister Ahmed el-Zend, according to a presidential decree published Sunday in the official gazette.
The appointees include one female judge; Ghada el-Shahawy, who will be the first women to be appointed as assistant Justice Minister.
Shahawy will assume the position of assistant Justice Minister for women’s and children’s affairs.
