EMA warns of cold wave to begin Saturday

Egypt’s Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of a predicted cold wave, with the temperature expected to drop by nine degrees below its normal rate, starting from Saturday, reported Youm7 Thursday.

Expected to last until Tuesday, Egypt will see showers and thunderstorms.

EMA Chairman Ahmed Abdel Aal told Youm7 that a high wind might occur, leading to poor visibility on highways and disruption of navigational activities.

Aal said that the weather will be “very cold and windy” during the coming 24 hours, and peaks on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

During the wave, Cairo temperature degrees during the day hours are expected to record between 11°C to 12 °C.
