President Abdel Fatah al Sisi met Saturday with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on the sidelines of the 26th African Union summit currently held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa, state news agency MENA reported.
During the meeting, Sisi asserted Ethiopia’s right to development through constructing the Renaissance Dam with a consideration of Egypt’s water rights; the Nile provides nearly all of the country’s water.
During his three-day visit, Sisi held several bilateral meetings with African leaders including Nigerian President Mohamed Bukhari, South Sudan Foreign Minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin in addition to President of the African Development Bank, Donald Kaberuka.
