Hani al-Masry, coordinator of the Association of the victims of the personal status law, said that the new draft of the personal status law gave him pleasure since it accepted the abandonment as reason for divorce.
He added that the church still have the right to give or ban marriage permits, but it’s a great development to accept abandonment as reason for divorce.
