Bishop Mounir Hanna, head of the Episcopal Church in Egypt and North Africa, said that it is difficult for all Coptic denominations to agree on a unified personal status code.
He suggested that churches are given the right to divorce and to give remarriage permits, just like Muslim marriage official have such right.
For his part, head of the Greek Orthodox Church, said that they have ecclesiastical courts to grant divorce since 1937 without any complains.
