Police announced they killed a “wanted militant” Wednesday in an exchange of fire with police south of Giza, Youm7 reported.
Emad al Sayedy, who had been sentenced to death in the case known in media as the “Kerdasa Massacre,” was gunned down in his car by police after he refused to give himself up in an ambush in Giza’s southern neighborhood of Hadayek Al Ahram.
Sayed, along with dozens of defendants, were referred by Egypt’s Attorney General to the criminal court over a deadly attack that killed at least 14 policemen in Kerdasa police station in 2014.
After searching the car, the police found a machine gun and tens of bullets. The slain militant was also sentenced to 25 year in prison for robbery, according to Youm7.
