Fuad Masum, the Iraqi president, told Pope Tawadros during his visit to the Papal residence that Christians are an integral component in Iraq.
He added that Christian monasteries were deployed in Baghdad and Karbala, as well as the northern Kurdistan region. They are well-appreciated in the Iraqi society, but ISIS has targeted them just like it targeted several Islamic antiquities in Mosel.
He concluded his visit by wishing Egypt the best regards as well as Al-Azhar and the Church.
