An elderly Alexandrian woman died Monday after part of an atrium wall collapsed due to strong winds while the 85-year old was inside, Youm7 reported.
The three-storey building was is located in the district of Gherbal. Her son Nabil B., 64, is a guard of the same building.
A wave of bad weather hit Egypt Sunday with a sandstorm then heavy rain. Bad weather often leaves behind a number of building collapses, in addition to collapses reported due to poor and illegal construction.
Also on Monday, in Ismailia southeast of Egypt, a man was killed and five others were injured after a four-storey building collapsed.
In November, dozens of buildings collapsed in coastal cities, including Alexandria and Beheira after rain that caused flooding.
