Security forces have killed 10 members of the Sinai Province militant group in the North Sinai town of Sheikh Zuwaid, according to security sources.
The deaths occurred during a raid by security forces on a militant camp in the south of the town, following a tip-off that a large number of Sinai Province militants — who are affiliated to the Islamic State group — were gathering ahead of a planned terrorist operation.
Ten extremists were killed and four arrested in the raid. One vehicle and two motorbikes were destroyed, while machine guns and communication equipment were confiscated.
On Saturday, the Interior Ministry said 18 policemen were killed in a mortar attack in Arish.
