Dr. Louay Mahmoud, professor of Coptic monuments at the University of Sadat City, said that the government insists on establishing the road at the monastery of Wadi Rayan though there are alternatives that can save 50 million LE.
The Professor said that the entry of heavy equipment in the archaeological area that lived there for more from 30 million a year will cause destruction in the area.
It’s worth mentioning that Pope Tawadros has acknowledged the monastery in 2012.
