There were several condemnations of US, European Union and UN against Egypt after Egyptian police have been investigating a number of local human rights organizations on charges of receiving money from abroad, which is known in the Egyptian media as «foreign funding case».
Moreover, Egyptian police is suffering from many accusations after the torture and killing of the Italian student Julio Regina. They failed to convince the public opinion due to its loss of credibility and bad reputation.
It’s clear that we have people specialized in making crises that will harm the Egyptian economy. The case of foreign funding has been in the court since 2011. 43 defendants were judged in the case and 19 Americans were sentenced to five years in prison though they were sent to their country before the ruling was issued.
The court also banned publishing in the case which caused even more criticism to Egypt and defamation of its reputation. We are still suffering from the Muslim Brotherhood and the Russian aircraft bombing thanks to our negligence, in addition to the killing a group of Mexican tourists mistakenly in a safari journey.
Such international situations affect our economy badly. The problem is that we chose to face such situation out of our negligence. Egyptian foreign ministry says that Egyptian human rights are an internal matter, which is no more acceptable. We have to grant human rights and set the rules for foreign funds.
