Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, said that the church did not add reasons for divorce in the new personal status law.
He added that marriage in the Christianity is based on unity between the married couple. Abandonment for long time breaks this rule. This is one new option before court to give divorce in the new law.
