Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, visited the Apostolic Palace at the Vatican for the first time, and met with Pope Francis to discuss how to spread peace in the world and coexistence.
Al-Tayeb headed a high level delegation of Islamic scholars and officials.
The meeting lasted for 30 minutes and discussed the situation in the Middle East and how to protect Christians in the current situation.
