Copts in the Sudan celebrated the return of Father Gabriel of St. Antony monastery after armed men kidnapped him for ransom.
Spokesman for the Coptic Orthodox Church said the monk was released without paying the ransom.
The kidnapped Coptic monk had demanded five million Sudanese pounds ransom in order to release him.
