CAIRO - Scores of Muslim fundmentalists protested Friday afternoon outside a famous mosque in Cairo against a recent decision religious satellite TV channels.
"Egypt is an Islamic Cairo. Egypt will remain Islamic" chanted the Muslim worshippers after performing the congregational Friday prayers in the Omar bin al-Aas Mosque in Old Cairo. Anti-riot police dispersed the protesters.
Egyptian authorities recently suspended 14 satellite TV channels broadcasting on the State-owned NileSat, saying they violated the regulations of their licences.
