Court to pronounce verdict on 22 Red Sea island protesters

 
Qasr el Nil Misdemeanor Court on Wednesday will  deliver its verdict against 22 defendants over their participation in the 25 April protests against the Egyptian government’s agreement acknowledging Saudi sovereignty over the two Red Sea islands of Tiran and Sanafir.
 
Earlier this month, the same court acquitted 52 protestors in the same case in which dozens stand trial on several charges including staging unauthorized protests.
 
Parliament receives report on general budget draft
 
The House of Representatives on Wednesday will receive final report on draft of the general budget for the next fiscal year, Youm7 reported.
 
The report was prepared by the parliament’s Planning and Budget Committee before it is put up for discussion and voting on Sunday.

Court resumes trial of Salafi leader in Nasr City court besiege case
 
Cairo Criminal Court on Wednesday is set to resume trial of Salafi leader Hazem Salah Abu Ismail and 17 other defendants over besieging Nasr City Court in 2012.
 
The defendants face accusations of inciting their supporters to siege the court in December 2012, committing violence acts, and preventing the state employees from practicing their jobs.

Egypt’s parliament to review draft bill cancels listing religion on ID
 
The House of Representatives will soon review the ‘citizenship’ draft bill in which the religion will be abolished from identification cards and all official documents; official spokesperson for the Support Egypt coalition, MP Alaa Abdel Moneim was quoted by Youm7.
 
The parliament’s Legislative Committee will convene to review the draft bill before it is put up for general discussion, Abdel Moneim added.
 
Sisi to announce date to start work at Dabaa nuclear power plant in June 30 celebration
 
President Abdel Fatah al Sisi is expected to announce the start date of the construction work at the Dabaa nuclear power plant during the June 30 celebrations, well informed source at the electricity ministry told Youm7.
