Monk Polous Riani, deputy of Wadi Rayyan monastery, was sentenced to two years in prison for attacking public employee.
His lawyer said it was a big surprise to send the monk to prison. He added that the monk is facing other charges including burning a lauder of the Arab Contractors Company.
