The high school religion studies examination was leaked online on Wednesday 15 minutes after the exam time started.
The exam was leaked on the Facebook page “Shawming Byghashish Thanaweya Amma" (Shawming's cheats for high school exams).
The Shawming page administrators announced at 8 a.m. that they had obtained the religious studies exam paper and intended to publish it once the examination had started, rather than before, so that the exam would not be canceled for a second time.
The same Facebook page also announced that it would leak the dynamics exam, scheduled for Saturday, as well as exams in geology, history, algebra and solid geometry, scheduled for Monday.
Around 560,000 high school students took the religious studies exam on Wednesday amid tight security measures nationwide. The exam was scheduled for June 5, but was canceled after the paper was leaked.
Security personnel have been checking students for mobile phones on entry to examination halls since the thanaweya amma exams started in early June. They have now stepped up their searches to include computer memory sticks.
