Egypt Embassy in Paris received a limestone relief from the reign of the 30th dynasty King Nectanebo II, after stopping its sale at an auction hall in Paris, Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities said in a statement Sunday.

 

The relief was stolen during the 1990s from a temple at Saqqara necropolis and has never been found, Shaaban Abdel Gawad, Supervisor General of Antiquities Recuperation Department at the ministry said.

 

 

Ministries of Tourism and Antiquities have organized a sound and light show at Giza’ pyramids Sunday evening, in celebration of the third anniversary of June 30 incidents, Youm7 reported. On June 30, 2013 millions of Egyptians have taken to street, calling for the ouster of former Islamist President Mohamed Morsi who was ousted by the military three days later.

 

 

The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) of Bibliotheca Alexandria will be inaugurated July 14 after it has been re-constructed and developed, state-owned newspaper al-Ahram reported Sunday.

 

The development works have been conducted by the Egyptian Renaissance Inc., in cooperation with the American University in Cairo, and the National Network for Information and Technology of the Academy of Scientific Research.

 

 

Egyptian famous actress Laila Elwi has gotten a pledge from Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA) to repay all debts owed by 1,000 women debtor, who are imprisoned over failure to repay back their debts. The Actress, in cooperation with charitable Foundation of  Misr El Kheir have launched a company to raise money to release a total of 33,000 women debtors, al-Ahram reported Sunday.

 

 

Egypt’s National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) will see Tuesday the crescent of Shawal, the tenth month of the Islamic Calendar, to be sure whether the Ramadan, the month when all Muslims should fast worldwide, ended or not. The Institute expected that Shawal will start Wednesday when Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
