Egypt's Illicit Gains Authority referred on Tuesday former minister of tourism Zuhair Garana and his family to court on charges of illicit gains.
Garana's wife, as well his daughter and son are also referred to the criminal court. The first session will be held next month.
The authority accused Garana and his family of acquiring properties including money, land, hotels as well companies and demanded Garana and his family to return to the state EGP 19 million acquired illegally in addition to a fine equal to EGP 38 million.
Zuhair Garana, who was the minister of tourism during former president Hosni Mubarak's rule from 2006 to 2011, has been facing several corruption related charges and trials since his departure from office in 2011.
