Russia may resume suspended flights to Egypt by end of 2016: Minister

Russian Minister of Transport Maxim Sokolov has stated that Russian suspended flights to Egypt could be resumed by the end of 2016, noting that the resumption depend on security measures that Egypt will take in airports, Youm7 reported.

He explained that he will meet for the second time with Egyptian Minister of Aviation Sherif Fathy Friday to discuss the resumption issue.

Fathy has flied to Moscow Tuesday with an accompanying delegation to discuss the Egyptian investigations into the Russian passenger plane that crashed in Central Sinai in late October 2015, Youm7 reported official from the Cairo International Airport.

The delegation includes also Attorney-General Nabil Sadek, and chairperson of Egyptian investigative committee Ayman al-Moqadem.

On Oct., 31, the Airbus A321, operated by the Russian airline Kogalymavia, crashed a few minutes after it took off from Sharm el-Sheikh airport killing all 224 people on board.
