Egypt is experiencing such a critical moment and facing terrorism and bad situation. Thus, it needs the unity among its people to overcome the plans that aim to divide such unity. President Abdel Fattah Sisi received Pope Tawadros and his accompanying delegation days ago at the presidential Palace in Heliopolis. During the meeting, they discussed the increasing Coptic wrath after the escalating sectarian attacks against the Copts.
The meeting proved that the Coptic issue is among the priorities of the president, as the meeting came as a message of reassurance to the Copts whose patriotism and wisdom was acknowledged by the president. He also showed great respect to Pope Tawadros. For his part, Pope Tawadros announced his support to the president.
The meeting was a positive step to face those who incite sedition among the Egyptians aiming to divide the people and spread chaos. There are violations to constitution and law against some Egyptian people. Yet, the state has to deal wisely with such violations away from customary reconciliation sessions.
The right approach for full citizenship is to enforce the law firmly, developing education, and excreting more effort and time, and spreading tolerance culture among the people. The renewal of religious discourse became a must as claimed by the president. Media has to play its role to educate the people and spread culture of coexistence and tolerance. We should learn that people are not the same. Religion is for God, but homeland is for all.
