The House of Representatives' constitutional and legal committee annulled on Sunday the membership of MP Ahmed Mortada Mansour, after a court decision in July ruled that his competitor Amr El-Shobaki is the legitimate winner of the parliamentary elections in Dokki district in the 2015, Aswat Masryia reported.

Mansour, a member of the Free Egyptians Party and son of controversial Zamalek Sports Club MP Mortada Mansour, was initially declared as the winner in the parliamentary runoff elections in October after narrowly beating columnist and independent political analyst El-Shobaki by a mere 700 votes.
The two candidates were competing for the Dokki and Agouza constituency.
El-Shobaki, who represented the same constituency in the 2012 parliament, appealed the October results and accused Mansour of committing electoral violations during the runoff vote.
The parliament has not yet, however, approved El-Shobaki as a replacement for Mansour. The alternative would be for parliament to request a re-run of the vote.
