Writer Kamal Zakher told Youm7 that a draft law that regulates churches construction “does not fulfill Copts’ ambitions.”
The law has been sent to parliament, where a dispute has erupted over the final draft.
Zakher said that the first article in the law bans establishing churches without fences, a condition that could face a problem in small villages and towns.
On the other hand, Pope Tawadros II has previously stated that the law is satisfying for the Coptic Church.
