Minister of Transport Galal el-Saeed said that Cairo metro is currently serving 3.5 million people, and by the year 2030, it is expected to serve around 9 million commuters after all six lines are completed, in TV statements.
He also added that the metro costs the state 780 million EGP each year, its revenues are estimated at 450 million EGP, saying that the metro’s annual loss is about 250 million EGP.
