Egypt's prosecutors in the coastal city of Alexandria are probing a money robbery from a provincial security headquarters, Ahram Arabic news website reported on Wednesday.
Some 90,000 Egyptian pounds (approx $10,000) have been stolen from the coffer of the Alexandria Security Directorate, an accounting employee reported on Wednesday.
The accountant discovered the robbery upon arriving to work. He reported that the safe's lock had been broken and cash from receipts of fees collected on paper work at police stations stolen.
Prosecutors have ordered forensic experts to inspect the site of the robbery and summoned a number of employees for interrogation.
