Microbus drivers have started a strike in the Cairo suburb of Maadi after a driver was killed by a lower-ranking policeman in the late hours of Sunday.
According to local media reports citing a forensics source, the driver arrived dead at the city's Zeinhom morgue with a bullet in his head.
The interior ministry has not yet commented on the incident.
