There is a special relationship between the Holy Virgin Mary and our countries Egypt. St. Mary indeed loves our country and there are many historical evidence that proves it.
His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria in his article "The Virgin Mary and Egypt" talks about three historical accounts that emphasize the close relationship between the Virgin Mary and Egypt.
The first story happened in the first century when the angel said to Joseph: "Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be there until I tell you” The trip was very tedious because of transportation. It took more than three years and the holy family blessed the land of Egypt!
In the tenth century, the Muslim governor at that time wanted the Christians to move the mountains in order to prove the verse that says, "Verily I say unto you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and nothing will be impossible for you". The Coptic Pope fasted and prayed for three days. St. Mary appeared to the Pope and told him how the miracle would occur.
In the twentieth century, St. Mary appeared on the domes of her church in Zaitoun, Cairo, for two years. National and international media talked about the miracle. Egypt was blessed by this miraculous manifestation. The angel told her, "Rejoice, full of grace!" St. Augustine said about her: "Mary had carried Jesus in her heart by faith before she carried Him in her womb”. May she intercede for us for the forgiveness of our sins.
