The church’s role is to support cooperation with moderate Muslims in each country to keep humanity undermined by extremism in many places among the world, said Coptic Orthodox Church’s Patriarch, Pope Tawadros II.
He added, during his speech before Middle East Churches Council, “We should perform an active role to maintain our countries through supporting strong relations with our Muslim brothers.”
“The Christian church has a major role in this regard as a spiritual entity giving the priority to the human salvation,” said the Coptic pope.
The Coptic patriarch participated in the Middle East Churches Council conducted in the Jordanian capital Amman on Tuesday. The session witnessed the participation of 24 representatives of the Christian sects in the Middle East.
