CAIRO - Egypt's Foreign Ministry warned citizens Wednesday against fraudulent internet announcements advertising job vacancies and marriage opportunities in Europe in exchange for money.
"Some European states have recently deported a number of Egyptians who were taken in by online scams. We warn against these ads," Assistant Foreign Minister Mohamed Abdel Hakam said in a statement carried by the official Middle East News Agency (MENA).
He added that the European countries would continue to deport Egyptians who breach their residency laws, pointing out that tourist visas do not give their carriers the right to work.
