President Abdel Fatah al Sisi will take part in the Sudan’s National Dialogue General Conference, scheduled to conclude on Monday in Khartoum, presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef said in a statement on Sunday.
Sisi’s participation comes within the framework of the “historical relationship between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples,” said Youssef.
Sisi’s participation comes in response to invitation by Sudanese President Omar al Bashir, he added.
The six subcommittees of the conference have discussed for more than four months main issues representing higher strategic interests of the Sudan including the ruling system, the identity, the freedoms and rights, the national economy and foreign relations. The subcommittees have concluded their work and submitted their recommendations last February.
