Egypt’s Education Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on developing Egypt’s technical education, Youm7 reported on Sunday.
The MoU includes the establishment of three technical education schools in Egypt’s governorates of Port Said and Menoufia to be funded by JICA.
The signing ceremony was attended by Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Education and Technical Education Ahmed al Geyoushi.
The MoU comes in accordance with President Abdel Fatah al Sisi’s directives to expand Japanese-style education methods in Egyptian schools, said Geyoushi.
During his visit to Japan in late February, Sisi witnessed the signing of three memorandums of understanding (MOU) between both countries. Under the agreements Japan will provide Egypt with a soft loan and will also help to expand the use of Japanese-style education methods in Egyptian schools.
