Muslim Brotherhood and their allies worldwide will undergo “dark days” following the accession of Donald Trump to the U.S. presidency, said Egyptian lawmaker Mostafa al Gendy.
In an interview published at Al Watan newspaper on Thursday, al Gendy said that Trump’s win “comes in the interest of the global security and the international community,” adding that the whole world would have been heading to “World War III” if Clinton was elected.
The lawmaker, who heads the Egyptian House of Representatives’ African Affairs Committee, predicted that the U.S. administration during Trump’s tenure will lift travel ban on Egypt’s touristic destinations and support Egypt’s efforts to obtain a loan from the International Monetary Fund.
Following Trump’s win, member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s dissolved Freedom and Justice Party Mamdouh Al-Mounir said in his twitter account that Donald Trump’s victory in the US elections is a “disaster” for the whole Arab and Muslim world.
