President Abdel Fatah al Sisi on Sunday has called for forming an international coalition to combat Islamic State (IS) terrorist group and offer all kinds of support for countries waging war against terrorism, Youm7 reported.
In his interview with the Portuguese LUSA news agency on Saturday, Sisi said, “terrorism is the true enemy we face and it is not present only in Iraq, Syria or Libya, thus the whole world must come together to fight terrorism.”
Sisi arrived Sunday in the Portuguese capital Lisbon for his first official visit to the country following the inauguration of Marcelo De Souza as president in March.
The international community needs to develop a comprehensive strategy to fight against terrorism, said Sisi, adding that the strategy “should operate not only on the military level, but must also involve using cultural and economic tools.”
