Maj. Gen. Mustafa Mokber, director od security in Suhag said that police have arrested 14 defendants in Sohag sectarian attacks and are currently under investigation assuring that the situation is under control.
Ayman Abdul Moneim, governor of Suhag, said that Egyptians are equal before the law and that a customary reconciliation session was held to reconcile Muslims and Christians, but the assailants will be punished according to the law.
A rumor about turning a café to a church was behind the attacks as Muslim fanatics have attacked the café and set it on fire.
